I have a mid-size pick-up truck ($4000) and a no one tool greater than $200. All the tools together are worth about $1500. I usually only take indoor jobs and outdoor jobs in the good weather months. I usually don't subcontract and I get all of my business from the local paper, referrals, and networking. I have eight years experience in the trade. I gross $40,000 before taxes and expenses. I also will stop working for multiple people and strike out on my own. Do I need to incorporate this year or is it a better move financially to put off the incorporation and just claim self-employment.
Orignal From: I am thinking of starting my own tile installation company in NY. What does the insurance cost? Incorporation?
