For my intro to business class, the professor assigned a case study, mine happens to be PepsiCo. She states, "Find the state of incorporation and the date of incorporation. This is not the same thing as the state in which the company was started nor is it the same thing as where it's headquartered."
I found that the current headquarters are in Purchase, New York, but I do not understand what she is looking for by the 'state of incorporation'.
If you could please help differentiate between the two, as well as inform me on where this is with a link, it would be much appreciated.
I'm more interested in what does state of incorporation mean, and where to find it. I obviously wouldn't ask it if I hadn't done some research, I searched a couple different finance sites and couldn't find anything.
